SNAKE
BITE Paducah Review
Photos coming soon |
SNAKE BITE rocked Paducah, Kentucky. By far the most professional gig the band has ever done to date. From the weather, to the equipment, to the show itself, all was sweet success. We arrived early at Carson Park as expected to provide sound for political speakers. Setup was coordinated perfectly and took under an hour to complete. The stage itself was fantastic. I estimate it to have been thirty feet square with a full cover. Just right for the SNAKE BITE show! When the sound came up all I had to do was to harness the sound not to overpower the gathering crowd. When the band took the stage at before three o'clock, they were met with screams of great approval. They played a two hour set non-stop including some covers and also debuted two new tunes, "Naughty Boy" and "Lucky Day". The new songs proved to be crowd favorites. A short intermission near the end of the afternoon and SNAKE BITE came back with some gut wrenching power rock to finish the show. We tore it all down quickly and retired to our favorite place to eat in Paducah, Yesterday's. I want to thank the Labor Day Committee of Paducah for letting SNAKE BITE take the main stage as the finale of their annual event. I am of the impression that the band will be a part of the annual Paducah event in the future which leaves us with a feeling of a job well done. A very special thank you for those friends and loyal fans that turned out to see the boys from Muhlenberg County do what they do best, Rock and Roll !

| Wet Snake |
Ain't nothin' worse than a wet snake I suppose.
I must preface this by saying SNAKE BITE had their best practice yet playing three hours continuously on Friday night, the eve of the Paducah Downtown After Dinner show. They were on fire!
We packed up and moved out to Paducah Saturday. Yep, the show Saturday went kinda like this. We drove around two hours to get to Downtown Paducah. We were placed on a remarkable stage on the front of the Mississippi River. Tension mounted as we spent a little over an hour placing the equipment to give our friends a rocking night to remember. The power came up and we started the sound check when just like the hand of God it reached out with a hard bolt of lightening just down the river. The decision was made to tarp down every piece and ride the storm out. And so it was done. We got secured just in time for a high wind and heavy downpour. No more than twenty minutes later it was all over. A beam of sunshine poured out and we got word that the Paducah Police Department cancelled the event. Not one note and not one song played. But, the band kept a smile as we lapped up a nice and cool evening while putting away carefully the whole stage show. This took a little more than an hour to complete. Two hours home and the gig is done. So the snake got wet but the band plays on. We are tentatively working out a rain date with Paducah's Downtown After Dinner planners so we can rock the river stage in SNAKE BITE style for all of our friends. Thanks to all who passed thru to talk to the band and crew Saturday and SNAKE BITE will see all of you soon again in Paducah, Kentucky!!!

| Naughty Boy |
SNAKE BITE has just completed writing what is sure to be a hit
rocking tune. It is called "Naughty Boy" and was composed by the
guys to be part of their upcoming CD release. It features a fast
lick laid down originally by guitarist, Jacob Noffsinger. BJ Dukes
added some very cool bass work to make it have a driving sound.
Words written and performed by Jordan and Ben Duvall. Ben drums
like never before with this one. Once again, the band is laying
out a punk/metal sound that is sure to be a hit. They are naturally
talented and aim to please. "Naughty Boy" is just one of several
songs gonna hit their 2007 CD release. A sample of their original
work will soon be available online at both myspace and their website.

| A Celebration |
The band took an evening off after a long practice session
to relax and have some fun. Also, to celebrate the accomplishments
of SNAKE BITE over the past several months. Most of the guys stayed
up all nite long discussing music, food, cars, and ladies! Is
there anything more?

| The
Creative Process |
Hurricane, the latest creation of SNAKE BITE, will be in the studio
next week. "It is a fun work with heavy undertones of Metallica
and AC/DC. It seemed to click. The whole creative process seems
to work well with our band.", one of the members stated. The
song started with a simple guitar riff written by guitarist, Jacob
Noffsinger. Ben Duvall, drummer, took the piece and arranged some
very cool lyrics. It was roughed in with the help of Jordan Duvall
who suggested that a piece written by bassist, B.J. Dukes be used
to create a guitar break near the middle of the tune. The piece
was tried and appears to have success written all over it.

| Cover
or not to Cover |
SNAKE BITE has humble beginnings performing covers of so many
great rock and metal acts. Recently the band discussed their views
on doing covers. In the beginning, covers were used to build a common
ground on which the band is completely founded on. These covers
get arranged in such a way that they can be played live to an audience
where they are immediately recognized. This is what the paying gigs
want most all of the time. However, in the future, a band has to
build a setlist of tracks that they own. This is necessary because
to succeed, people don't pay the professional bands to play covers.
However, SNAKE BITE is using a mix of both to satisfy their audiences.
With sounds from several decades plus add a set of SNAKE BITE tunes
then mix it all up with SNAKE BITE's approach to it, well lets say,
you will like what you hear...

| Working
on Sponsorship |
SNAKE BITE is looking for sponsors to help fund the SNAKE BITE
experience. Though such a young group of musicians, the band has
talent, quite a stage show, and most of all they are focused on
being the best! Yeah, the band's average age is thirteen. And, they
sometimes sound thirteen. But, their hard charging act is always
a crowd pleaser. Not simply hoping to make it in the music business
but focused on it, SNAKE BITE is sure to go the distance. At the
present, SNAKE BITE is working on a record label and sponsorship.
SNAKE BITE always needs help with financing the SNAKE BITE experience.
If you as an individual or if your company is interested in helping
this young act maintain and improve their performance, please contact
us. The band will gladly advertise for you for any help you can
give. Be a friend to the band...
